The formation of zinc coatings in nanocrystallised zinc powders

چکیده

The kinetics of and mechanism for galvanising low-carbon steel (0.2% C) were examined in powder media which pre-treated to obtain a fine nanostructured ZnO layer on the surface zinc particles. effective diffusion coefficient Zn atoms through shell was estimated be order 1·10-10 m2·s-1. contribution Zn-gas evaporation/condensation microprocesses, could occur relation above layer, evaluated with numerical calculations temperature range 550–950 K an average particle size up 100 nm. Our results suggest that outward metallic takes place from core microparticles across nano-grain boundaries their modified can further intensified by presence other inter-phase defects, such as nano-porosity.
